Improvements

  • Month-To-Date & Quarter-To-Date Reports: Now it's super-easy to create a month-to-date or quarter-to-date report. Just choose from the dropdown and Adzerk's reporting system will calcuate the dates for you. This is especially helpful when scheduling a report, as you can send a month-to-date report to your advertiser daily!

  • Fixed-Dates in Scheduled Reports: By default scheduled reports create a "rolling window" that is updated every time you run it. For example, if you had a report that went from Monday to Monday and scheduled it daily, then the next day it would run Tuesday to Tuesday, and so on. However, now if you want to have a fixed start and end date for your scheduled report, you can click the "Fixed Dates" checkbox. A good example of this would be a daily "campaign-to-date" report emailed to your advertiser, showing them the data from the start date until the end date of the campaign.

  • Reporting Robustness Improvements: Storms: We've built additional safeguards to keep our service running smoothly during "report storms" where many thousands of reporting API requests arrive simultaneously. If you request a large number of reports via the API in a short period of time, you will see your reports take longer to complete. All other report users, however, will see normal report durations.

  • Reporting Robustness Improvements: Slow-running Reports: We've also built additional logic around slow-running reports. If a report is taking a long time to run, it previously had the potential to cause other customers' reports to be delayed. We now better detect slow-running reports and "route around them" better to keep reports returning speedily.

  • Documentation: Native Ads Quickstart: We've added several native ad request examples in different programming languages like JavaScript, Ruby, and Java. We'll add more examples in the future, but this is a great place to start for anyone wanting to get a quick win and understand the Adzerk native ads API.

  • Documentation: RTB Configuration for Zemanta and Bidtellect: If you have a Zemanta or Bidtellect native ads RTB account and want to add it to your Adzerk account. We now have setup guides for both Zemanta and Bidtellect.

Bug Fixes

  • Scheduled Reports Not Being Delivered: For one day last week a bug caused several scheduled reports to go unsent. Reports are now running on time again.

  • Extra Backslashes in UI 2.0 Creatives: When creating a </script> end tag in a creative, UI 2.0 was incorrectly saving it as a <\/script>.

One More Thing...

  • We've been laying the foundation for a much-requested feature: ad request reporting. It will take us several months to build and test this feature in the reporting service, but the ad server changes are in place and is now collecting request data. We are targeting late Q2 of this year for beta release. Stay tuned!
