Custom Buttons in Console

The Custom Buttons feature lets Publishers create personalized navigation shortcuts in Console - linking directly to documentation, dashboards, or support tools to streamline workflows.

Overview

The Custom Buttons feature allows Publishers to add their own navigation shortcuts directly in the Console sidebar. These buttons can link to any internal or external destination, making it easy to surface tools, documentation, or support resources for advertisers and internal teams.

Custom Buttons are fully configurable via Platform Configurations in the Configuration Manager, and appear instantly in the Console’s left-hand navigation.

Example use cases:

  • Link to product documentation or campaign guides
  • Open internal dashboards or support systems
  • Connect to helpdesks, chat tools, or external BI platforms

Enabling Custom Buttons

Custom Buttons are managed through the Platform Configurations section in the Configuration Manager. From here, you can create, edit, or remove buttons that will display in your Console environment.

Creating a Custom Button

When adding a new button, you’ll define three main fields:

FieldDescriptionExample
Button NameThe short label that appears in the Console navigation. Keep it concise.Documentation
IconSelect an icon from Console’s built-in icon library.settings_icon
LinkThe URL that the button will open. This can be internal (within Console) or external (e.g., ReadMe, Intercom, or Looker).https://dev.kevel.com/docs/creating-a-campaign/#/

Icon Selection

When configuring your button, click the icon selector to browse Console’s full icon library. Choose an icon that visually represents your button’s purpose - or example, “info” for help, “book” for documentation, or “chart” for dashboards.

Visibility Controls

Each button can be toggled Visible / Hidden within the configuration modal. When enabled, it appears instantly for all users in your Console environment — no restart or publish action required.

Example

Here’s an example of a setup where a custom button called Documentation links directly to a campaign creation guide hosted in Kevel’s ReadMe documentation.

Once configured, the button appears in the Console’s left-hand navigation under your client or publisher context.
